Electric Cars Suck (from the POV of a car guy)
Some reasons electric cars suck (from the POV of a car guy):
- The sound - If you love the sound of rumbling glasspacks or the wail of a V10 @ WOT, then you can forget that, as electric cars don’t make any of those beautiful noises. They just kinda whir along like your old Power Wheels Jeep.
- No more tuning - If you’re the kind of guy who loves fiddling with carbs, adjusting F/A ratios, increasing boost, or retarding and advancing ignition, kiss all that shit good-bye. Your electric car has 3 parts that make it go and unless you have a degree in electrical engineering or computer science, you can’t do anything to them.
- You won’t drive as much - When and where you can go will be dictated by your electric car’s state of charge. Want to go to track day tomorrow? Too bad. Track is too far away.
